If you want to keep the original speedo for that car (the speedo in the vacuum gauge cluster)it is very easy to do:
1) Take the existing cluster out of the car. Start to take this one apart first so you will get it right on the one you want to use with the tacho.
2) On the back of the cluster, there is 6 or so screws and 2 small nuts. Remove these and then the backing plate with the printed circuit should come off.
3) From the front, remove the plastic cover and the black instrument surround. There are about 4 tabs on the top and bottom of the cluster. Carefully - and I mean carefully - prise these out with a small screwdriver or similar. Don't break them!!!
4) With these off, the individual gauges should be free to move around. Gently manouvre the speedo until it comes out.
5) Repeat the same process on the other cluster - making sure you don't break anything and remember where everything goes.
6) Install your existing speedo into the tacho cluster and reassemble it.
7) Reinstall in car and now you don't have to watch that stupid vacuum gauge that goes backwards!!!

if you change the speedo to fool people\insurance companies into thinking your car has done less kays than it really has(not morally correct) dont get too keen. if a car has an unbelievable amount of kays u can check if its been tampered with. behind where the speedo cable plugs in on the later model dashes there are 2 screws wich hold the speedo unit in. these screws have a green glass type shit melted across them, if its broken its prolly dodgy. also it is verging on impossible to take the bastards apart without breaking at least one plastic clip that holds them together.
if in doubt. ask if u can check. if someone goes to that effort to make the car look better, what else are they hiding?
