I had a master cylinder go on me a few years ago, a recoed one cost me about $180 fitted.
How did you bleed the brakes, right front, left front, right rear, left rear? |

When you bleed the brakes your suppost to start with the wheel furthest away from the master cylinder LR, RR, LF, RF
You should be able to get a decent master cylinder from a wreckers for $20-30 |

Check the front calipers and rear slave cylinders for leaks.
If it is the master cylinder you'll see fluid leaking down the booster. If its leaking at the rear you'll see fluid inside the wheel or on the back of the brake plate |

I might have my wires (or brake lines) crossed. I thought it was the other way.
What happens to the air that is in the start of the rear lines when you start bleeding the front brakes? I was thinking that when you are pumping the pedal for the fronts you are pushing any remaining air left in the lines to the back brakes, rendering them almost useless again. You would then have to bleed the back brakes again...
Please correct me if I am wrong
Nothing beats a pressure bleed from a brake specialist though. |

master cylinders rarely fail they are only 20 bucks i made that mistake it was the flexible brake line goin to the cylinder that was cracked... could be that... they cost about 40 bucks |
