You are right, eggy but...
My TX 4spd had a 4 bolt shifter unit, whereas the 5spd had a 3 bolt shifter.
To confuse matters my TF 4spd had a 3 bolt shifter. The TF 4 spd was a fine spline, so when I changed over to the coarse spline 5spd I had to change the tailshaft as well.
Oh, and the TX 4spd was a coarse spline unit. I have a feeling the difference is one of these is called an MSG unit. Anyone care to shed light?

Which direction is yous reverse in, if next to 1st then it is a 2 bolt shifter and a totally diferent box, if reverse is near 4th then 3 bolt, your 4 bolt shifter sounds like an import, also if this is a problem the to hats where the stick bolts onto the box are universal and can be changes to support the different sticks, but i have never come accross a 4 bolt stick? very strange I have both 4spd's and 5spds both corse and fine spline, but all are 3 bolt gear sticks? very interesting info but, cheers |

Very interesting
I think it may have been because my TX was the very first model to come out. I have been told that the changes made from this TX model to the next and the TC/TD were quite a few...
I still loved my TX tho, sob sob |
