My car's heater ain't heating.

Any suggestions?
new hoses? new radiator thing that goes inside the car perhaps?

Is the coolant still running thru the engine if there is a block in the heating system?

firstly, the coolant that runs through your heater core is on its own 'circuit' from the main cooling system. its the same water, but different channel.

prolly the most possible problem you have is that the heating 'circuit' is blocked. this could be in the core or the hoses/manifold. the best thing to is to try and flush it out by removing the heater hoses from the front of the head and the top of the inlet manifold and pumping water from a hose through it. also pump water down the inlet manifold top L piece as the water jacket inside the inlet manifold can also easily get blocked with shit.

be warned though: many a person that has flushed out their heating system has ended up upsetting the structional rust integrity of their heater core. i.e. when you flush your heating system, if your coolant migrates from the depths of the engines water jackets onto your floorpan youll need a new heater core.

a qik and easy way is to plus ya garden hose into the top heater hose(behind carb)and give the tap a gentle turn as too much pressure will blow it apart.
Once the water starts flowing turn the tap a bit more then repeat the process through the bottom hose...
BUT as woz said you might dislodge bits and cause leaks, but thats a risk we all take!!!!

Gemini heaters are shit. I took my heater out and it's hotter in the car now without it. solved a lot of problems too, the car warms up quicker now.
