Just got a dyno done on my 2L G180 today:
39kw/52hp rear wheels @ 4930rpm
158Nm (the diff's buggered though)
It's got tons of torque to spare and the compression's through the roof (175psi - what ratio is this?) so i'll definately try to get a bigger cam, but would it be worth fitting a taller diff too?
What price should i be looking at for a cam?
What about a diff? |

your joking right? that is shit hp. No stay wif the same ratio and use a 2000 to 6000 cam and that will free up more hp. price for the cam is about 200 |

Something is holding that engine back seriously. I used to get 45Kw rear wheels @ 5500rpm from a near std G161. This jumped to nearly 60Kw after 32/36 Weber and extractors.
I think torque was up around 175Nm.
If the diff is *really* buggered then that may be sapping some power, I wouldn't think that much though. |

A cheap regrind probably won't last too long. |

A mild regrind just reduces the size of the base circle, so running with factory valve springs then the increase in load is only on the original lobe (with any surface hardening that holden may/may not do) and only proportional to the increase in lift...
I wouldn't recommend an extreme regrind running mega-stiff springs, but even then you could be lucky and have no problems. |

Yeah, 52hp is pretty bad. There has to be something wrong somewhere. I got 110hp from my engine and I thought that was really pathetic. I don't feel so bad now |

I'm sorry Andrew for my last post. It sounded worse than it was meant to. Its just that I have spent $$$ on my motor and was fairly disappointed with the hp reading. Other people seem to do bugger-all, yet come close in hp |
