Some of you may have attempted to locate Gemini scale models in the past, some of you may not.
However, with the 30th Anniversary of the Gemini coming up in only three years (2005), I reckon we should start lobbying Trax models (one of Australia's premier model builders) to create a 1:43 scale replica of the TX sedan and coupe for the occasion.
I mentioned it in an email to Trax some time ago, but did not get a response. If more people ask for the model, then perhaps the chances that they build one would be greater.
If you're interested in getting a Gemini model now, eBay has several Opel Kadett C models on offer in both 1:87 and 1:43 scales - these are extremely expensive however, with a 1:43 scale wagon fetching over A$70 including postage, while special editions such as the GT/E coupe fetch much more - closer to A$100.
These are visually very similar to the Gemini, save for thinner bumpers, prominent Opel badging, and of course, a steerer on the wrong side of the car! |

Cheers for that - never looked up Biante on the net, but I looked at some at a model shop yesterday. They are sooo fucking good those models.
I guess you get what you pay for though.

Just discovered that Biante also market other peoples models and sell the Opel Kadett C Caravan and GTE coupe for about $50 - heaps easier and cheaper than going through eBay - I hope I get outbid, now dammit!!!

| Well I've got a Opel Kadett "C" Coupe 1973 Collectable, 1/43 scale made by "Detail Cars" Platinum which was got from Auto Miniatures in Tasmania. I can't see the phone number on it cos it was a present and the price tag is half ripped off. I also saw this model in a model car shop in melborne but can't remember the name. |
