looking for a 5 speed in queensland, is it true u can not put a 5 speed in a tx |

No, you just have to watch out for the different splines. You may have to get a different drive shaft but I thinks thats all. |

I have a 5 speed in my TX, goes well. I also may have a 5 speed out of a TG soon. Will keep you posted.
I am also in QLD. Average price for an excellent condition TG 5 speed? |

i have got a few 5-speeds in the shed, later model (tf-tg) had fine spline front yokes on the tailshafts, all others had coarse. U need to modify the gearbox mount if your tx is the early model (made b4 7/75 i think ) as this has the opel floor pan. To check which it is : if there is a hump on the passenger side floor pan next to the trans tunnel then a 5-speed will bolt in. Another way to check is if the washer bottle is at the drivers front, behind the headlight then that is a later model tx.
