There was a plug where the lighter is supposed to go in my TE but it just popped out with the help of a screw-driver. |

I dare say that both of you have base model TE Geminis - no SL or SL/X badging on your cars, right?
In fact, I dare say your cars probably have round headlights, and might even have silver stockies with grey plastic centre caps, if you still have the original wheels.
Your cars probably have a blank where the clock is supposed to be - I think it's a Holden symbol on the TEs, although some earlier cars have a blank blank, and some have an Isuzu blank.
The black plug is a blank as well, used to plug up the hole where the cig lighter goes. Obviously if the original purchaser of the car opted for the base-model (they were often fleet cars) then the General wasn't going to spare 3 bucks or so and fit one for them!
Yeah, like Matman says, it'll pop off with a screwy or something.
My Breadvan's got a blank too - all the panelvan's were base-models - fairly spartan in their interiors. Not sure about the sedans, but the vans didn't even get carpet!!! And the rubber mats didn't extend past the seats!
Welcome to the world of povvo stocky base models. |
