OK .. I made a stoopid mistake of selling my Gemini back in November last year as I was heading to PNG for a job offer. Subsequently I am no longer going to PNG thanx to the ex grrrrr. I have no car and I need one. Kinda getting a lil tired of trying to get my old lady's car up over 40kph.
This is what I am after. If it runs even better. These cars not necessarily for their umm performance ability, because eventually what ever is in it is getting ripped out to make way for a neat lil engine with shit loads more grunt. But I want one for their body shape and compatability.
These would be great if they were FREE ! So if you have granmummies and grandaddis who have an old car in their garage tell them to call me.
All are pre-85. Anything earlier and as far as I am concerned it aint worth it. Laff all yas like but I tell yas, when it is finished yas will be creamin' in ya pants fellas
Ok .... Got ya pens ready ?
Vauxhall Viva 1964 - 1967 - these only ever came out in a 2dr so don't ask if I want a 2 or 4dr.
Holden Gemini (of course) TX, TC - TG 1975 - 1985
Ford Escort - 2dr, 4dr or van.
Datsun 1600 or 1800.
If you know anyone who wants to get rid of one that is in good condition body wise then please let me know. If it is drivable then even beter. I can probably organise a RWC if it is drivable to keep it on the road.
Price range - as little as possible. You can assure the owner that it will get shit loads of TLC I won't tell you my upper limit, that reduces my bargaining power then .
Location - well Brisbane of course. Probably go as far as the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast / Tweed and Toowoomba. Prefer not to head to the coast as they would be affected by the salt air. I don't want a rust bucket.
You can leave a post here, or email me at tg_gemini@bigpond.com or call/text 0414 951 683.
Cheers fellas

Killaaaa
That's what I reckon - Post-1985 cars have got zero style and zero character, but score top points for reliable, powerful engines.
ALL HAIL RETROTECH CONVERSIONS!!!
Not sure what the post meant by a Datto 1800 though... that ain't a model. Mazda did an 1800 - stylish bit of gear it was too.... |

Ya I know that .. but others might know someone who has one sitting in their shed on some old blokes property who has probably never even heard of the trading post.
Besides, there was only 5 that I woudl even consider making time for to see, and most are available to be seen when I am at work Either that or they are too far away. |
