hey guys this is kinda out of place but yeah im just after an opinion..
does anyone know anything about toyota supra's, cos my mates looking into buying one and wants to know some stuff, he's after the old stlye ones, like the 86 models, after they had started going away from the celica shape...
any info you have on em, pro's and cons etc would be much appreciated, i know gems rock more but he wants one of these and he reckons he's gonna have about 10k to spend on one...
cheers

my girlfriends dad had one in his wholesale yard so i took it around the block a few times.. it was a white late 80's or early 90's shape not the new shape
i think it was single turbo but i could be wrong... there was a ver noticeable kick as a turbo kicked in under heavy footing
all i can say is they are tanks compared to gemini's... they feel fuckin huge when u drive em around but they are comfy, handle good etc they feel solid. and a natrual aspro one that my friend owns beat me by a car lengh in my twincam gem.... the turbo one would fry it but! |

They are a heavy car, but they are well built and reliable. The Aussie delivered models had the 7M-GE (N/A) or 7M-GTE (single turbo). If he's after the twin-turbo model, he'll have to look in the import yards and be very lucky as they are not common in this guise. A better option might be to buy an Aussie car, sell the engine and put in a 1JZ-GTE (the twin turbo engine) as the engines drop straight in and are relativaly easy to find as well as being quite inexpensive. He could then spend then spend his 10g on exhaust, intercooler, brakes, and suspension. |

my mums got the same motor in her cressida loves high revs but the heads are a shit design and the coolant passages block up unless u change the coolant about every 20 000kms and u need to change oil in em every 5000kms |
