Hey Guys and gurls.
Just bought a TG on saturday (some dick camira smashed his headlight into the rear end of me on the way home and i hadnt had the car for half hour) thats another story...all is well no damage on my side.
ANYWAYS.
I got a bit more then i bargained for because as i was cleaning boot i noticed a very large hole in the boot (under all boards and mats).
Proably 30cm by 10cm. Perfect rectangle nearly.
well does anyone know the best way to fix/repair this problem?
Please help because stereo installation is next week and i have sub that needs to go in boot. (might fall through)

depending on your budget, you could go to rare spares and ask them for a boot floor. i think they'll ask u for around $180 but don't quote me on that.

You could attempt to fix it yourself. Clean up the edges of the hole with an angle grinder, cut out a metal plate (I used Zinc) to the measurement of the hole, and if you are any good with a MIG welder, tack it in place, then weld it all the way around. Just a suggestion.

If you dont have access to a MIG, try this.
Wire brush both inside and out around the hole and paint the rusty bit with a rust converter, about $15. A roll of the widest masking tape, cover the hole from the underside, overlapping the tape as you go. A $25 fibreglass repair kit, stick the matting to the masking tape from the inside. Mix up your resin and pour/paint onto the matting and surrounding metal. Finally, when dry, a can of spray-on underbody deadener, $10, sprayed both sides (remove the tape).
Not quite as strong as the metal but you're not bolting a towbar to it! If you want it stronger, add another layer of matting while the resin's wet, or another layer....Probably wouldn't do it for anything bigger than about 25cm sq.

fuck it.
Thanks guys for helpful suggestions. My dad is a welder and has told me he can weld a sheet of strongish metal from the body metal to the other body metal thing (holds boot and car intact). That would be very strong. Cheers.
Might even look in to getting a whole car boot to save fuckign around too
