Where To Start?????

We just got a TF(basketcase) to do up for our doughter,but its been a long time since we played with cars.
So my question is - where do we start?
Its not going to be wild but mild (for now),nice paint,tidy interior,mild 2lt or 1800.
So what do you all reckon?
Lets hear the advice.
