An interesting idea came up the other day your thoughts would be appreciated,

A friend has a couple ot old cars as below,
Early Rodeo with G200 and 4WD manual trans,
TE Gem Sedan manual stock,

The intersting part will be can the front Torsion bar sus. from be modded to fit under the TE Gem ie. create a new Gemini front crossmember to support the Rodeo front diff, both vehicles have double wish bone sus.

then fit the G200 and 4wd gear box and sort out tail shafts, diff ratio's / stud patterns,

I still actually have to go down to my mates place and start measuring it all up to see if possible,
Your thought's would be appreciated

cheers

Possible? Yes
But then it's also possible to play golf on the moon. It just takes a lot of money to get there........ Surprised)

Grouse idea!! As Matman said, it probably wouldn't be cheap, but if you did alot of the work yourself you'd cut out alot of labour.
I wouldn't worry about the suspension changeover, the Rodeo has a full chassis. Just remove the cabin and tray/tub to give you a starting point, then gut the Gemini of its running gear and mount the body to the chassis. I have both these vehicles and just took the tape measure to them. The biggest hurdle is the Rodeo has roughly a 2670mm wheel base whereas the Gem's (TD copue I measured) is a tad shy of 2400mm. If you're going to register it you'll have to consult an approved engineer, but you could shorten the chassis and rear driveshaft to get the correct wheel base.
Years ago I drew some pictures of a 4WD Coupe, I want to see pictures if you do it.

Good luck,

Yonnee.

Thanks for the dim's, 200mm wider???
The plan is to not to use the Rodeo chassis because of added weight, but to see if it is possible to construct a new engine / front sus. crossmember simular to the one on the rodeo, front syus. geometry will be interesting,
but if all fails it will be something interesting to think about for a while,

thanks for the imput,

cheers
