I went over to Mac Donald Brothers Racing Thomastown Vic, on the weekend, and to my surprise they have 2 Gems, sitting in the workshop,
TG getting a FJ20 Turbo, & Toyota Diff
TG Getting a Gen3 5.7 ltr, + 9 incher
Both should be interesting conversions when done,
It was good to see the Gem's in a V8 Workshop,

probably a lsd from a hilux, although a gen III may need something stronger.
a lot of Escort guys use them, cause they are very strong, light, dont need too much modification to fit under an esky, can be gotten with disc brakes and of course, they are lsd. They are pretty pricey to get made up though and its easier for gemini's just to use a commodore LSD. Unfortunately for the escort guys theres not many alternatives so they have to fork out. I dunno if all this aplies to gemmies as well, but it may help.

I don't know what it was out of I was only there for about 10 min's but the fittment was very interesting, as they only used 1 ofset arm to replace the torque tube,
but a lot of welding had been done to the floor of the Gem, to support the arm,
