My dad wants to buy a motor thats a rear wheel drive but its fuel injected can I change fuel injected back to a carbi set-up?
are there any problems that may arise when doing this
or is there a different set-up. |

the answer is simple: KEEP IT FUEL INJECTED!!!!!
'just'(ha ha) wire in the computer+loom and keep the standard manifold+injectors it came with. its better in the long run. |

why u would want to i don't know. In some cases though the standard manifold on a N/A motor restricts power. Such as the case with the 304 holden. The standard 304 manifold is good for low down torque (due to the long runners) but anything over 400hp it starts to struggle. Also, due to the runner design porting is impossible. An american company has tried to bead blast the inside of the runners to open them up but this makes the wrong part of the runners bigger. ie: the outside edge of the curve and any gain comparative to cost is marginal.
My engine builder picked up 60 hp on his 304 by bolting on a manifold and a holley and moved power about 500rpm up in the rev range. A 497hp daily driver engine that idles like a baby.
Depending what the engine is, finding a manifold to mate to carbs could prove difficult if it was never offered in carb form. You may have to modify ur efi manifold.
If u ask me it'd be just as easy and probably just a expensive to go 4 a second hand aftermarket computer. It would be a step backward for u though to go carb unless it;s gonna be a N/A high hp motor.
Sorry for the rambling. Got a bit bored tonight.
Cheers
