When connecting a Cold Air Intake to the intake pipe from the carby is it nessassary to disconnect the automatic choke as i have read in past posts???
also would the best, and easiest way to connect the CAI be to chop down the existing pipe to allow a wider intake or to take it off completely and connect the CAI straight onto the filter box???
Any replys appreciated! |

I dont see why, the temperature of the air coming in doesn't effect how the electric choke works.

What I think you are describing is virtually the same thing, I cant see the benefit of one over the other, although chopping the neck down enough so that the cold air pipe is a snug fit would probably be easier.

Remember you need to cut a relief in the back of the filter housing. You want to surround the filter with cold air, and not pressurise the air box which may lead to lean mixtures. |

The pressure possible would not be more than about 0.1 of a psi. More performance benefit than anything I reckon. |
