I'm looking to put a holden rodeo engine into a gemi. i've been told that it will only cost 1500 bucks. is this true? is it the v6 or the 4 cyl that will go in? then i wanna put a turbo into it. eventually i'll put a small intercooler in but without that what kind of quartermile do you think i'll be able to do? |

who ever told you it will cost $1500, maybe you should ask them the question as you can put a rodeo motor in a gemini and it will cost you $0.00 and take about 3hrs, if you have everything and know what you are doing,
if you are gunna fit a turbo then an intercooler to an already secondhand motor you are asking for trouble, particularly after you have been thrashing the shit out of it for while,
as for qtr mile times it should be faster than a standard gemini if it makes it to the other end.
cheers

actually what i meant was.... would it cost 1500 bucks for the engine itself? how much would it cost to buy a rodeo engine with a stock turbo on it? if you have any advice on how to pull an 11-12 second quartermile for cheap i'd also be interested to hear it |

$1500 for a Rodeo engine, there is about 10 different engines which one in particular ie. Petrol? Diesel? 4cylinder? V6? engine model? year? with or without gearbox? computer?, how about getting on the phone to your local wreckers, too many options
Factory Rodeo motor with stock turbo????? only Diesel????
Advice 11-12 second qtr mile for cheap... Go and pay someone for a ride in a 13 second car, you'll shit yourself, then ask them how much $$ and time, again you'll shit yourself,
please use the SEARCH button until you have a question that is not in anyway listed,
How old are you????
cheers

" pull an 11-12 second quartermile for cheap"
the cheapest way would to be to have it towed by a top fueler. Do you have any idea how insainly fast an 11-12 quater mile is for a gemini? For a reliable set up you would struggle to get it all for anything less $10,000. |

i'm about to buy one, got it lined up and all, just waiting for the owner to get me a pink slip. he has two, one is a te and one is a td. he's selling both and the te already has pink slip. gonna make the decision soon. just can't decide which one to get! |

there is a gemini on the gold coast in qld
that does 11's with a rodeo 2.6 injection and turbo
but it's rego is in nsw
and he is a tuner at chip torque so
he does most of the work him self |

how's about fuck off. i don't know much about gemini's yet as they are a new found passion. i know of one gemini that does 11's and it too is running a rodeo engine. my passion until now has lain with the late 80's toyota supra which while running a twin turbo can pull a late 10 if the dyno is done right. and no it will not all be done for 1500 but the expense won't be too great. after an aftermarket front loaded intercooler and some bridgeporting is done with new seals and gaskets it will run early 13's and maybe even some late 12's. so, until you have something intelligent to say go back to playing with your 15's and 16's and leave driving to real racers |

c'mon you saying you dont all dream about your car going faster, looking or sounding better if only you had the money??? without some people dreaming we would all be driving stock standard factory spec cars... (sure there are some cases where this works really well) but we all get ideas of what we have seen or heard or would like to do from other peoples dreams and if we shoot down every person that has a dream what will there be left??? |
