i heard a rumour that you can use the original engine mounts for a fj20det and just cut sumfin around the gearbox area? anyone heard of this? |

no u cant u have to make new mounts, sump and gearbox mounts. speek to "FJ2047" he is in this forum

it probabally *could* fit, but its not centred or something? gota sit foreward of the mounts a bit or vice versa. |

so wat would the end result be if we sat it a bit bak? n who knows if it could actually b posible?? would i stil hav 2 get new gearbox mounts? |

From what I have found out you will need to manufacture your own engine mounts, move/manufacture the gearbox mounts and modify the firewall. It's a hell of a task anyway, and will require engineering.
CA18DET installation should be easier, but don't quote me on that. |
