I took my front spring out the other week and found when i was putting new ones in that my lower ball joint is completly fucked. So i got new ones and when i went to take the control arm to go and get em pressed out and put new ones in i couldnt undo the bolt holding it on. Ive try putting a pole on it for more leverage and that didnt work. what should i do |

you can heat the old lower ball joint and hit it with a big hammer to remove it.
then leave the new ball joint in the freezer for about 1 day, then heat the control arm and press in the new lower ball joint straight from the freezer,
or use CRC to soak the bolt to remove it,
cheers

Gene is right, but leave the nut on the bolt flush with the top of the bolt, so you have more to hit. One good smack with one of those little heavy hammers does the trick (and wear earplugs!!!). |

If the bolt are that rusty in the lower control arm then it's probley trying to tell you it needs new lower control arm nothanes... They are $70 for the 4 bushs and if the old ones looked anything like mine then you'll be wishing you got the replaced. As for the bolt you cant get undone, Cut the cunt with an angle grinder... One of mine was like that and i couldnt snap it so I had to cut it...
Good luck anyway

as a mate of Gemini driving yobbo i have been helping with the problem.
It's may work if we hit the joint, but the "ball" flops around like a dick in a bucket, so when we hit it it'll hit the side and smack the control arm, we wont get a decent hit. |
