ok Gene,

best way is get a donor TG, you will need to unpick a lot of spot welds, as both TD & TG have completely different mounts for the dash face, we well as heater, steering column, also you will have to graft the TG loom to the TD loom, fuel boxes and relays are different, and you will probably not be able to get it rego'ed unless your engineer can confirm that it will be safe in an accident, I looked into it, but decided against it, also with most TG dashes when you put a sports wheel on you cannot see the speedo about 80 kms which is a pain,

cheers

I'm going to be doing it. I have a donor TG.

Why do you need to graft the tg loom to the td?
Why don't you just swap them? Engines are the same, you've got all the stuff like the heater etc from the tg.

head lights, indicators, tail lights, fuel pump (TG no electric fuel pump wiring), relay box,
for a start.

either way you will have to graft some where either at the end or the start, just thinking that if you get 1/2 way through it and run into problems, it'll be a mess.

but hey have a go and let me know how you go,

I have looked at it after stripping a TG and a TE, everthing from windscreen back needs to be swapped, the TE has has a square mounting while the TG follows the curve of the windscreen, that is the first problem removing and changing the metal work unpicking all the spot welds on both cars without fucking up the TG metalwork or your TD shell,

Cheers
