some funny k-hunts on here ;O
I have the same problem. I used the search function and yes i found info, unfortunately the replys were all orientated around buying a 'pin remover'. Im not in a situation to go out and buy one of these at the moment, so if anyone has an alternative way, which uses tools im likely to have thats be sweet.
cheers.....Tim

i wouldnt bother trying without a pin remover ive had a go at taking them off without and i didn't have any luck... these doors had been on the car for 27 years and didn't show any sign of wanting to move...

Someone put this into the workshop!!!!!

Do you own a welder, and a grinder ?
No? Give up, you'll have to buy the tool, else you cant get the doors off.

Yes? Take out the plastic inserts in the ends of the hinges.
Determine the inside diameter of the pin (slip a screwdriver, bolt, etc in to find out)
You will then need to buy a bolt of that diameter, with a thread on the end, and a nut. Tighten the nut onto the thread, then rotate against a running bench grinder, grind the nut down till it is almost gone , but just wide enough to catch onto the pin, but narrow enough to slip down the channel of the hinge.
Weld the bolt onto a length of steel at right angles. Yuo end up with an L shaped tool.
Top hinge. Spray a liberal amount of RP7/WD40 into the hinge. Shove the bolt up from below , when the thread pops out the top, screw on the ground down nut. You bash the steel with a hammer , forcing the pin down and out.
Bottom hinge: do it in reverse, push the bolt in from the top, screw on the nut underneath, bang up on the steel to pull it upwards and out.

About an hours work, for a tool which you will be able to use many times. Eventually the thread may strip, spend another dollar and buy another bolt.
Hope this c*nt, as you put it, has helped you out. You'll refer all future post about removing doors to this post, wont you?
Good on ya, lads.

you know how the the bottom of the pin is burred, which holds it in there. Grab a chisel and wedge it between the hinge and the flat bottom of the pin, then hammer it, it will sheer straight off quite easily.
hope that helps.......Tim

the easiest way to take the doors off is to get a [spare] rod that holds up the bonnet. it is the right diameter to push out the pins.cut a straight piece out off it with a grinder etc. to get the top pins out, work from the bottom and to get the bottom pins out work from the top hittimg the pin carefully with a ball hammer as not to mark the pillars. it is a good idea to put a rag or stout piece of cardboard in behind the area. i have used this method many times to remove doors for panel work and repaint. hope it helps you as it normally works well. you should be able to pick up a spare rod from the wreckers for next to nothing if you don't have one lying around. good luck

Good one Tim.Thats the only thing I left off. the eaiest way is a die grinder, but of course you'll need a compressor for that. An angle grinder with a new wheel might do it, but I think its touchy getting it in there without eating your bodywork as well.

Did you f*ck up the doors in the process? From memory, you cant push out the pins in the reverse direction in which I gave in my post above, because they will foul on the door before they are out all they way, so I dont see how you could do it neatly that way???? You put little dinds in the body work, and bent the pins too, right? I tried it that way first, no go, thats why you need a tool.
