IF I were to go buy a quality temp gauge (auto meter, vdo ect) Then would it be a good idea to get a 10cm peice of stainless steel from work (Grade 316) and TIG a nut on the side of the peice of stainless with a hole in it for the sender and then cut the top radiator hose and put the peice of stainless between the hose join????

This is just an idea that has been storming around my head recently as I would still want the standard temp gauge to work...

Any one know?

a ford adaptor will screw into the manifold(under where the fuel looking glass is there's a temp operated switch[late models] with air hoses, similar size to the vacuum hose on dizzy screw it out water will flow..
this way you keep the original temp sender and less modifying......
hope i helped!!!!

the stainless would be good but possibly look messy...
if you have an oversize radiator then twin mazda 626 thermos are the go...
they fit very nicely infront of RA40 celica radiator
