in my gem when i go to shift into second it always crunches i have my foot on the clutch right to the floor n it still dose it, all the other gears dont do it but is something f*cked in side.

hey does it not do it when it is warm?
my 5 spd did that when it was cold then it snapped the linkage :/ |

Mine does it also.
I have tired adjusting clutch to no avail.
I am going to try one of those box addatives before changing the entire box. |

it used to do it in the cold but now it does it all the time
u have to duble clutch it real slow with a tecnique to not let it grind but than i cant do quick gear changes ior anything its a bitch when theres hot chicks watchin u than they hear a grinding sound, real embarresing.lol |

Your synchro ring on second is rooted.
And if you find springs in your gearbox, Pinkbitz, Ill give you $200 for each one. |

There is actually 2 spings in the top of my 5 spd to hold the shilfter in the middle |

Yep there is 3 of them - the detente springs. They have nothing to do with crunching though, they just ensure the ball bearing gets pushed into each depression, so you get a positive position when you shift. Now where do I send this $600 to? cash is it, or will you take an IOU? he he |

i had a rebuilt gear box that did this. i only found out why when i changed motors that it had very little oil in it. |
