my new head unit comes with one of those sleevy, slip things(the ones that u put in and then push out those little stop bits), to secure it in place
........but my TF Gem doesn't have anywhere for those little stop bits to be pushed down into.
a second opion on the unit is to screw it in from the sides
...........but again the gem doesn't have the framy bit to use with those screws..... SO HOW DO I SECURE IT IN!!??
Thanks - James |

if you take your dash out to install it, you can make it pretty much theif proof... can you can get at it from the back and sides and still wire it up properly |

a single bolt into the bak of the head unit into the standard bracket at the back of the dash, fiddely but effectif. but if i was steeling a sterio and couldnt get it out i would just smash it in the dash to get u back for fixing it in so well HAHAHA

Dunno about a TF, but in my TC i made up a bracket from some sheet metal (a 'joist hanger' actually). Front on, looked a bit like this: [____]
After drilling a few holes, i attached it to the sides of the head unit using the provided screws. I then used some nuts and bolts to secure it (using the holes for the original stereo).
Moral of the story: Measure up your head unit and go for a browse around your local hardware store. |
