I am new to Gemini's and I am not sure what sort of gearbox oil should be used,[it is a four speed] Can anyone help, thanks. |

just regular gearbox oil...i find castrol vmx is fine |

If its the same as all the isuzu 5 speeds which I would think it would be then you don't use gearbox oil, you use SAE 30 engine oil. |

The Gregory's manual for Gemini's states to use engine oil SF 20W/50W. This is what I put in my 5 speed 6 month ago and its been fine. I also checked with my mechanic and he said thats all he uses in manuals.

y would u put ENGINE oil in a gearbox they have gearbox oil for gearboxes hence GEARBOX oil |

Engagegra and Bugle are right (20/50 not 30).
You would do it cos the manual says so. As I have always done, and never had problems.
Doesnt mean you cant use certain g/box oil, you'll just look like a dickhead for paying 3 times what you need to for some Penrite or whatever. |
