who here has teher battery in the boot. how much are battery boxes and does it loose power haviong to travel further to get to where it has to go???? any help is good |

i have no idea except that the thicker the cable the less drop it has in it |

yeah i know thinker has less drop but would like to know roughly how thik ad the cost of the box. i need to know as my car is getting put back together soon |

the cables like a hose small hose not much water goes through big hose heaps of water can go through
but if u go to big well im not sure wat will go on maybe it will drain to much... |

5 guage is to small. I would go at least 4 guage. Just remember that your starter motor is trying to pull a shit load of current at start ups and that is why they use 4 guage. and the cable is so short from the battery!! |

the 5 gauge cable i have for my sterio is 1/3 bigger than the starter motor lead _________________

I used 0 gauge. No voltage drop. probably less than when it was in the factory position with the thin cable. |

dont buy it (battery box) from an auto shop.....
Goto a marine shop as they're heaps cheaper.
And as for cabling....dont just enlarge the positive wire...do the negative as well!!ppl make the mistake with stereo's of huge power cable,not thinking that the earth should be just as big, otherwise its pointless. _________________
