my fan don't work....WHY?

ever since my damn problems with my gem, batterys and alternator stuffing up my fan don't work, by the way my gem still isn't working properly
i think it shorted out or something
all i did was rev my car out heaps to catch up to a mate and now all my electrics are fucked, i noticed that the fan was still going with the keys out of the ignition on the night the gem fucked up but now it is no go

is there a relay?? replace the relay? hmm what about the contact in the relay, cause mine is the olden kind..mechanical..not electric..so there is a contact inside..try that
