ok i saw it too and was wonderin the same thing about the owners of the gems ,they were pretty nice...anyways what is happening is...

The police are supposedly having a crackdown on hoons, we got told that a couple of months ago on the news anyway but nothin had really been done...

how the police and news can say that it was a crackdown, i don't know... more like a publicity stunt because 34 cars isn't much,compared to in the hills area, near parra, they had a crack down on not only hoons but they specifically targeted young drivers and modded cars, they inspected something like 75 cars and defected almost all of them...

The crack down was at Brighton Le Sands, where alot of cars go cruisin anyway, and there has always been crackdowns on modded cars there so if u think ur car is defectable i wouldn't go drivin there anyway(and u'd get blitzed by all the faster cars)
so yeah it's just like the QLD hoon legislation, in fact it was just days after the hoon leg. came in in QLD that they did same thing in Sydney

it was nice the way they used old footage from different/old storys of people doing burnouts, one was on a pad anyway!!!, and the footage from the motor show of the 10 something subs in the back of that mad bmw i think it was, as though these were the cars they defected!!!! LOL
they will show anythin to mislead people
