My mate told me to put a 7 pound Peter Brock fuel pump from a VB commodore in my gem to get more petrol @ high revs where there wasn't enough. The motor has a bigger cam and a bit shaved off the head, the rest is stock at this point, I want to know if the existing fuel lines will stand up to a 7 pound fuel pump, I don't want to blow my self up.

Thanx.

Um, the VB pump would probably do it, but instead, why not just fit any one of half a higher capacity 12 volt fuel pumps, facet, holley, fuel miser, etc etc etc...

Go to efi.com.au and have a look at their pumps, you could try the 11003, I will be using a pair of these as lift pumps to fill a surge tank.

Do you have a sedan with electric pump? If so, these standard pumps support a lot of horsepower, and can be modified easily for more.

I wouldn't waste my time with a different pump. I would guess the standard pump will handle about twice the horepower you are making when running on a full 12V.

Incidently, the standard rubber fuel lines will hold over 50psi, but they are not rated to that pressure. They will hold 7psi no worries though.

If you've got high rpm starvation, try blocking off return line. Make sure needle and seat are good and float level is correct.
