My gemini is bronze (actually called sandpiper bronze) and it has a decal of a bird with the word sandpiper written under it and pinstripes running along the whole car. I was wondering does anyone else have a gemini like this or seen one like it as I have never seen one the same. Secondly does anyone know if the sandpiper was a special/limited edition or what the go with it is? I'm thinking of getting it resprayed a nicer gold and I'm unsure whether or not to get the decals put back on.

I just looked on holdenhistory.com and this is what I got.
PRICE
Gemini 4-Door ... $4925
Gemini SL 4-Door ... $5290
Gemini Sandpiper 4-Door ... $5540
Sandpiper must be the posh version, mine's a coupe though. |

This is the thing my Gemini History will clear up.
The TC Sandpiper was a special edition model which included:
Sandpiper decals on the sedan rear doors or rear quarter flanks on coupes - the picture is a bird - a sandpiper, strangley enough
They came with the Fashion Pack interior, which was indeed funk-arse tartan.
They included the stainless steel strip across the front edge of the bonnet that was also available on all TDs except the panelvan and base sedan - no other TCs had this strip.
Grill and headlight surrounds were black, not grey
The DID NOT include a 5-speed, because NO Gemini prior to the TD had a 5-speed. If it's got a 5-speed, it's been fitted after the fact.
None of them had tachometers.
In the case of the TE model Sandpiper II, much of the same stuff was included - not tartan but cloth seats, no tacho still - they're not a budget model, but fell above the Gemini SL but below the SL/X in trim levels. TEs did NOT have the base-model round headlight front.
That's the guts of it. When the History is online (more dramas involved in it's birth that you could ever imagine) then all you'll need to do is check it out. It's right.
Cheers,
