ok guys, i am sick of only doing single leggers, im pretty keen to weld my diff, but a few people reccon they are pretty tough to drive with? how tough would it be, i know how the diff and shit works and how the wheels have to spin at differnent speeds and shit, but who here does or has driven with a locker before and how much do you notice the difference, thanks all

my diffs welded. welded diffs act the same as a diff with a locker in it (or mini spool etc).the drivability is only effected when turning corners, as it shutters and churps the tyres. the only problem you may have is braking axles as the gemini ones are pretty weak. mine uses all commodore axles and disk brakes and i havnt had a problem with it yet (cops quite a bit of punishment too) |

my mate had his diff in his td welded up and never had a problem. he gave it shit everytime he drove it and the axles coped with the heavy load. did sweet burnouts. ride was shit though. good fun in the wet. |

My TD had the diff welded up when I bought it and it was the stupidest piece of 'engineering' I've ever come across. It skipped and fucked about around corners and I went through two sets of rear tyres in about 3 1/2 months. So if you like throwing money around and driving an annoying car, go for it.
The guys who owned my car beofre me had gone a little 'weld crazy' to the extent of welding in ball joints and other such replacable parts, which made for buckets of fun when I set of to rebuild the front end. Whoever taught that boy how to weld should be shot in the face.

yeah i have found some tyres wear rather quickly and then other sets hold up for ages (falken: 8 months, until i destroyed them with a hell burnout) |
