Just wondering if its worth running an earth wire direct to the battery for my 2 stereo amps, does earthing this much current through the body speed up corrosion or anything? |

for an earth wire running directly to the battery to be effective the gauge of wire would have to be at least 2 but 0 would probably be needed...
in answer to your question, No this is not necessary and will most likely bring more noise into your system and create more resistance than simply running a ground to the nearest chassis point to your amps
hope this helps
cheers

What you are best to do is to ground the 2 amps to the same place so that it creates a loop in the current to stop engine noise. This is what the car sound guy told me and i did that when i installed my amps. No engine noise! |
