this may no seem helpful, but i might as well say it.
when i fitted the 32/36 weber on my gemini it was a nice neat fit. the only problwm with the was the inlet for the fuel line was so close to the thermostat housing it possible to fit the house. this casued the fuel line to crease and restrict the fuel flow.
to fix this i sourced i thermosat from a 71-80 mazda 1300 engine (retail for $16) this put the water neck at a different angle away from the full line.
the housing is a perfect fit and fixed the problem.
plus the existing top hose needs to have 1 cm of pipe cut off
hope it helps |

acctually that helped a fair bit thanks. My friend has a 2L escort and that has a 32/36 weber on it and from my knowledge 2L cortina motors are the same and have the same webbers. These should fit then, right? what did your 32/36 weber come off? |

I adapted a 32/36 weber to my g200 only a week ago, i match ported the manifold and took out a lot of metal from the venturies and joined them into one. I made and adaptor plate out of mild steel to raise the carby an inch higher, i will try to get some photos because it is much better than a bought plate. Throttle response is awesome, even though the engine is still running in. |

I had the same problem with the fuel line hitting the thermostat housing. After throwing tools around, gashing my finger and swearing lots, i studied the problem at hand, and by reversing the adapter plate, the carby was moved toward the outside of the engine bay and the fuel linje dilemma was solved. I didnt run a choke, actually totally removed it, so it didnt foul against the master cylinder. Problem solved.....and third gear burnouts were easy. |
