I am currently looking at getting an extremely heavy clutch for my car. However I was talking to the man from the clutch shop about this and he says that a lot of people have trouble with snapping clutch cables. I can see his point as I have snapped them with a standard & 650kg clutch.
I was just wondering if there is any way around this? Is it at all possible to convert it to hydrolic rather than cable?

You can get pressure plates made with altered leverage points so you have more clamping pressure but less pedal pressure to actuate them just because the pedal is hard to push in does n't mean its a heavy duty clutch you can also alter the pedal ratio mine is 5 to 1 from memory any less than this though and it would feel like a brake pedal.to messure the pedal ratio messure from the pedal pivot point to the pad you push on then messure from the pivot point to the clutch cable mounting point this is the pedal ratio |

Ask if they sell Daikin clutches. Daikin make heavy duty pressure plates, that you can use with a standard clutch plate (which should be enough), or they can make a sprung or solid centre 4/5 paddle/puck (whatever you want to call them) clutch plate. They have cermaic buttons.
Quite cheap too. |

My boyfriend is a bit of a lead foot and he is very ruff with gear changes and loves doing burnouts wen ever he can.
We had a custom clutch made for his driving style problem being by time the clutch arrived we had put the piazza engine in the car. your other option is a brass button clutch. we just put on in the piazza and no matter how hard he try's he can not get the clutch to slip. our heavy duty clutch is for sale. |
