I have a straught motor for sale G200 block with big valve head on it cromed rocker cover. It needs a rebuild thought. Got a piazza so changed motors over and then we pulled the G200 apart to make sure it was still in good health(it is). $1200 ono. We are in melb.

Keep in mind this is only my opinion, find a motor other than the G200, i chased for three weeks to find a descent cylinder head for one. Ring all the wreckers in your town and engine rebuilders they will tell you that good cylinder heads are as rare as rocking horse sh**,i've been led to believe you cant import then anymore(importengines.com).I built my engine from ground up and now seriously thinking of selling without the engine even turning a cylinder, just to hard to find parts(descent ones), there are guys out there that put rotaries, 2.6ltr & 2.3ltr Rodeo engines(not my budget) and there are plenty of others. Thank you for reading my dribble, remember just my opinion.

My opinion is that you are asking waaaaaaaaay to much for the G200. I sourced one from the trading post that was freshly rebuilt with 'new' internals ie; new pistons, rods, crank, rings, bearings.... You stated that yours is in need of a rebuild.
I payed the asking price of $1150 on the proviso that he delivered it to a workshop to have it fitted at a cheap fee (ended up being $350 which is reasonable considering the cheapest quotes i got were $450-$600). He told me that he was negotiable to $750 if i had have tried to haggle.
Maybe $750 is a more reasonable sale price, but like i said - that's purely my opinion.

We are all welcome to our own opinions. But this little g200 is far from every being standard it has a mega arse lumpy cam in it. The head has ported and polished. The bore is 50 thou over size. The crank has been strengthend. Engine was origanaly built to do burn outs with twin webbers on it. It made 135kw at the wheels with the webbers on it. I have the new head gasket for it. Its only the bottom end that needs new gaskets, seals and bearings. Pistons and rings are still good.
