in our gem it has the stock holden radio in it and i bought an el cheapo 1 for $30 i took the original radio out and on the new 1 it has 4 wires.. a ground, a power a left speaker and a right speaker. Do i have to buy a connection to hook them up? Coz i can't see anyway i could put it in without a connection.

haha memories of blowing shit up. i brought a shithouse one once for me corana and blew 2 up and took one back becasue i thought it didnt work becasue of the grounding. so take it back and go your cheap shit dont work. and they tell u to grab another one so grab a $70 one and walk out wit it. if u wanna be a slackass wit the wirering just use the old ones.cut the wire of from he plug and use it(sounds like u will do that) |

yeah thats what i am going to do. We got the power to it and we tried every single wire but the speakers would not work. On the upside i did get the horn to work so instead of a muffled fart its a bloody high pitched scream! Thats why i bought a air horn to replace it! No one would ever suspect a little rb gemini to sound like a fuggen truck!

mate with those decks the four wires are posative, negative, speaker left+ and speaker right+, wire the negative black to the chassis, wire the posative to the battery or some source of power, then wire speaker left to one side of the left speaker, then the other side of the speaker goes to the chassis or ground
and do the same with the right speaker. they only use one wire from the deck for each speaker the negative side of the speaker is just connected to the chassis/earth
hope this helps |
