sohc carby, with out any mods? don't want a 5spd, the last gear just acts as an overdrive anyway, so i've been told. |

it will bolt straight on. they're the same casing.
But 5 speeds are the go. when you travel on freeways it is. if ur just drivin round the suburbs than why not 4 but i tell u theres a fair difference in petrol consumption if u have the extra gear |

Definatly go the 5 speed, you'll regret it if you dont. Also its not like you HAVE to use the last gear all the time. |

yeah when you are on the highway with a 4spd your engine is revving at like 3500 instead of about 2900 rpm it saves your engine and your fuel but of corse it is up to you, i have about 8 4speeds here and i cant get rid of them! |

If you are looking at doing any long distance driving, the 5speed is your only viable option. To give you an idea of the difference it makes, on an automatic gemini, stock standard driving from Canberra to Melbourne I was getting around 13L per 100km driving. I''ve now got a warm 1600, bored out to 1800, stage 3 cam, port and polish, extractors, weber 32\36, and a 5speed and with a fully loaded car (moving house full) I was still able to get around 10L per 100km. For around town, the 5speed isn't really necessary, but you will kick yourself on long trips if you don't get one. Cheers |

I fail to see the humour, so would you care to explain the source of the merriment to me please? Cheers |
