My car is almost ready for paint, its had many coats of primer and has been wet and dry rubbed a few times and its smooth as silk. However, you can still see some very fine scratches in the paintwork if you look at it in certain light.
Someone told me that these will come through and show on the paint and he said that I would need to hit the entire car with spray putty !
I was planning on just wet and drying it again then hitting it with a think coat of primer and wet/drying that.
My other option was to hit it with a coat of high build primer and rub that back before applying paint.
(acrylic paint we are talking here)
Advice please ? |

I rubbed 800 wet before the paint goes on on the primer, you can't feel the scratches at all but you can see very fine ones.
Personally I think the guy who told me is talking crap. Though I might squirt some high build on and cut it back to be safe. |

800 is too fine for acrylic... you need at least some roughness for the paint to bind to otherwise it will peel off in the future
I have always used 400 with acrylic and 600 with 2pac.
Scratches will only show up if the paint isnt applied thick enough (ie 5 coats instead of 10) or wrong mixture is used. _________________
