From what I've heard on here sidedraught webers suck on gems coz you need an s bend manifold. I wouldn't go a holley, I'd go either a single weber or twin webers. everyone loves a single 32/36 weber i dont know why more people havent put on a 40/40 weber? my mate did that to his golf and it goes heaps harder than the 32/36 he had on there. |

its coz the 32/36 fits on the stock manifold, and you have to get a custom manifold for the dd 40mm or a linx manifold and remote brake resivior for the side draught 40mm |

i have a g161 (soon to be g180 with a 180 holley on it, they are almost the same as a 32/36 but the bigger throat is closest to the head. They are also a much taller carb, espacially with a good adapter plate, good throat length and distance from the head means better air speed. The engine has nothing else done to it except extractors and a straight thru, and i have beaten every 1.6 gem i have raced. It really makes it go heaps harder, i noticed a big difference |
