Just Gemini Spares in Adelaide put together a Regency-approved (that's Adelaidespeak for 'RTA approved') bolt-on vented disc brake set up.
Callipers are discs are modified vented Camry discs and calipers are Volvo 4 spot.
These are hardcore brakes - my Gemini laps Mallala and gets no fade whatsoever. I love these brakes. These brakes are my best friend. Sure, you're not going to outbrake a Clubsport R8, but they stop heaps better than a stock Gemini, and better than a Piazza too. These brakes are bigger than Piazza discs.
The only drawback, and it's not that bad, is that you'll no longer be able to use stocker 13" Gemini wheels any more. 14" will be the minimum size.
Just Gemini Spares retail these for about $1100. Expensive, yes, but a lot of research went into these - they have been engineered by Douglass Potts who is well respected in Adelaide, and have been RTA approved as I said. You'll still have to go through the RTA to approve them yourself, but they supply documentation to say that it's all OK. Finally, they don't increase your track measurement at all, which is RTAs usual moan when it comes to mega-brakes.
I don't have shares in Just Geminis. I love their brakes, that's all. They are killer.

Just a note: to run piazza discs, you need to get the whole stub axle. this includes disc, caliper, spindle, bearings, and funnily enough you also need to run piazza tie rod ends. The complete stub axle will then blot up to your upper and lower ball joints. No modifications are required to brake master cylinders or anything like that and it makes a big difference to the braking. I have done this modification several times. |

rod hadfield does a kit which addapts xa xb removeable hub vented discs and hq to hz holden calipers the only draw back is that you will have a 5 stud front disc unless at the same time you're getting machine work done you can make them to 4 stud (if you live in adelaide ring CDS engineering) for the machine work... Ring rod hadfield for a price I will stand buy them they pull my 350 powered gemini up and I dare say will be a shit load cheaper than 1100 dollars. link is in this web site |

I guess they'd be cheap big brakes but its hardly the latest technology.
I'd look into fitting RX-7 series 4 and 5 callipers on a gemini. they're 4spot, and very light, made of alluminium.
I recall an article in an old FF&R's someone who made a kit with commodore callipers, his nxt project was going to be a kit with those mazda ones |

Dave sorry to bust your bubble but the brake set up you speak about is at least 10 years old that I know of, also it a very poor set up. piston surface area is only marginally bigger than standard and much to heavy to boot. there are much better setups out there.... |
