This is a post of the 2 emails i have recieved in response to enquiries on a V6 conversion at the castlemaine rod shop...
The V6 to Gemini is the easiest swap ever, all you need is our changeover
sump and oil pick up, our engine and chassis mounts, rear crossmember
adaptor and the power steering idler. The motor is lighter than the Gemini
motor, a wiring harness is available now along with the extractors. The tail
shaft is shortened 100mm and only the booster is required to be moved.
The average cost of an engineering report is approximately $400.00, the sump
and oil pick up change over $440.00, speedo cable $45.00, power steering
idler $240.00, engine and chassis mounts with the gear box cross member
adaptor $250.00. To shorten the tail shaft if supplied clean and dismantled
would cost $55.00. A 150hp LSD centre would be totally adequate. The
remote booster is a good way to do the job, boost the front disc and fit
larger rear wheel cylinders unboosted.
It's exactly what ford did in the XT & XR.
Suggestions:-
Get a weighbridge ticket for the front and rear of the car before starting
the swap, have a brake fade test before the swap so you have a reference
then do the same after the swap so the engineer has no doubts |

an interesting note... a friend of mine has done this conversion along with a ford 9in. runnin 4.11's
the engine was rebuilt dead stock except for extractors and he ran an et of 11.5sec at calder. which is pretty damn good when you consider the engine will last alot longer and have lower consumption than most worked fours. _________________

Is this V6 conversion legal in Vic?
I wonder if I can bung in a supercharger too with the V6, hehehe, I sounds like bags of fun on a wet road, fuck it...even on a dry road, lol, if you can keep the little bastard on the road and not launch it into outer space... |

Speak to rod at CRS, but as far i know it legal if the engineer approves all your other work too. The supercharged one can be used, but the engine is expensive... |
