Hi,
The people at autobarn said that the big metal exhaust tips that are around 35 to 70 do not improve the sound of the car. Are they only for looks??? I thought they changed the the wavelength of the sound. |

thats not a "tip" is it.
if u wanna change the note to a deeper sound.
get 3" exhaust pipe about 1.5foor long fitted to the back (the straight section under the boot)
like this (yes iv done it and know what its like, im not just saying it cos "my mates friends sisters boyfriend heard it was a good idea")
http://groups.msn.com/GeminiFever/latesphotosofthegemini.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=110
tip itself will do pritty much nothing at all. u need the length for it to echo threw

Thanks for all your help, I think I'm going with the 1.5 foot 3'' at the end. Though there is the rear resinator at the end. Should I remove this resinator or fit the pipe after it. Or should I remove the muffler in the middle of the car. Sorry, I know I have no idea about cars. |

yeah mate my rb has the front resonator removed and it sounds a bit of alright. in a completely opposite direction to what everyone else has said, after i had the exhaust done on my car (complete system), it had a really raw, ordinary sorta sound, but i put a vt tip on it (the 5x3 oval one) and it made it sound better believe it or not; not a great deal obviously, but it was enough to take the crappy edge of it.
cheers,
goons |
