I was wondering if anyone could please give me the low down on fitting an FJ20Turbo to a Gemini Sedan, for example what is required for the fitment, approval etc. I live in QLD so would anyone anticipate problems with the transport authority? What would be a rough estimate for the conversion, and would it make any difference if the Gemini is a Coupe rather than a sedan?

Thanks

The conversion would cost $7000 - $8000 including motor, box, all EFI hardware, computer, fabrication of mounts etc.
I work at 4Sport performance in Brisbane. We currently have a FJ20ET and box for sale and are able to supply all other parts needed for the conversion. If you're serious about this conversion call 38653270 of drop in at 5/4 Ferric st. Virginia

Thanks for the info...It seems as though it would be a rather expensive conversion...Probably better to consider other options.
Thanks for the help anyway

Unless you want a crazy drag car, there are plenty of options that are a lot easier (ie bolt in) that will get your gemini going plenty fast. Piazza turbo engines probablyu being the best potential power for $$

Thanks Paul...Do you know of any good online sites or shops dealing with selling these Piazza engines or of any websites talking about the installation etc of these engines? This would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I've been looking for a Piazza turbo for ages. They are hard to come by. Places like Jap Performance have front cuts but they want $1900 with no brakes (auto trans). You should get the brakes too if possible, as they are better than the standard gemmi items. Steve from Just Geminis in Adelaide will probably be your best bet. He knows what he's talking about, but they are hard to get. When I talked to him, he had 2 comming that were already sold. You need the gearbox too, because the stock gemini box would last about a week (so he reckons). You'll also be needing an aftermarket intercooler if you plan to wind up the boost. The Piazza intercooler wont fit. A new computer will be in order too, as without a wiring diagram the factory computer is no good, so theres another $1000 - $1200.
As for websites, trust me, there is squat, unless that is you can read Japanese. Piazzas are huge over there, but I only found one site that was in English, but it didnt have much technical info. You can try www.findapart.com.au or apraa.com and tell them you are looking for a Isuzu 4ZC1, but I didnt have much luck (except for one mob in SA trying to flog a motor and box for $2800!!).
They stopped making this motor in 1989 so thats probably the trouble.
Good luck, let me know if you find a spare motor.
