Hey
Its easy. Hacksaw how ever much you want off the gear stick and then find a bolt that has the same thread as the gear nob and weld it on. Put something over your carpet and seats if you dont want it to get burn holes and stuff. Screw on your gear nob and your done.
Easy

Just take your shifter out, Cut it down to the size you want then use a die (think thats how u spell it)matching the same thread as your gear knob and put a thread on the end of the remaining stick.

Easier way is to chop the top off with the thread or bolt, cut a section off the bottom and weld that top piece back on. |

you could just buy an aftermarket gear knob from autobarn or the likes, chop down the shifter and then cover the top of the shifter with the rubber insert, force the new knob down on the rubber screw in, screw up the knobs boot and you have a short shifter with a kool knob on it =P |

shifter on my dohc box was cut down and a new hole was drilled and thread tapped into it. I then just bought a length of threaded rod, cut a sectino off, screwed it into the shift knob then screwed that into the new thread on the shifter. |
