I have read a post about switching 2 elect. ignition, it was highly recommended. You get a stronger and more reliable spark over the points system. Wouldn't cost much more than approx $75 all up, and is a good and easy mod that reaps good results in both stock and worked engines. As far as the head and/or carby mods, try to do them at the same time, get the head done and grab the carb while it's being done. That way when you fire it up, you can tune the carb to your set-up and also get the right advice on which carb 2 use with the type of head-work you're getting.
Sorta like if you got extractors but didn't upgrade the exhaust and mufflers, there's not much point going halfway.
P.S
Getting hold of a cam when the head and intake mods are done would be highly recommended to take advantage of it's new breathing ability and characteristics. |
