i'm doing the old 1600 head on a g200 bottom trick....
am i dreamin' expecting to pull 16's on the 1/4?
i'd be running...
*extractors
*2 1/4 spts exhaust
*1600 head.....
25/65 re-grind cam,
stiff valve springs and oversize valves
everything not previously mentioned is standard.
so what do you's reckon? is anyone running a similar setup and wanna share their quarter times?

Depends on whether he is a good driver :)
You would be needing some serious intake gear, either dual sidedrafts or mad EFI, to go with some really good port work and high compression, at least 10:1 but even then?? |

The CDT Gemini could do a 16-second quarter with twin Webers and some head work, and that was a 1600cc - no reason why a G200 with a 1600 head and the stuff you mentioned couldn't do it. You'll be running Avgas or something with compression like that, but. |

It should do a 15 easy. My worked 1600 used to do mid 16's. It was standard bore, and pretty mild.
You should consider a better carby. Maybe a 32/36 weber. instant power in your application, as the Niki is a choker.
Quarter mile times depend alot on tyres and suspension setups. If you have old tyres, and you have lowered the rear of your car a decent amount by cutting the springs, then it will just spin the wheels off the line and you wont get a good launch. New retreads work good with soft suspension. |

No your not dreamin at all. My mate ran 16.0 with weber 32/36, what you guys would call a stage 2 cam , stock G200 bottom end and a shaved and cleaned up Tx head. Had 11.0 compression. Even a stock Tx head on a G200 with no cam and a weber would still do mid to high 16's. |

On that motor didn't redo the cam timing so that was a fair whack out to due to different shaved head. |
